My Background

I’m Steven Van Belleghem, and I’ve spent the last decade obsessing over one question: what happens to customer relationships when AI can do everything faster, cheaper and more accurately than any human?

What makes my perspective different is timing. Since 2014, years before ChatGPT, years before “AI strategy” became a boardroom agenda item, I’ve been researching and writing about how artificial intelligence would reshape the way companies connect with their customers. That head start matters. It means I don’t just understand the technology. I understand the trajectory.

I’ve delivered more than 1,500 keynotes in over 50 countries, for organizations that take customer experience seriously: Disney, Google, Salesforce, Mastercard, Heineken, Booking.com, Coca-Cola, Volvo, Unilever, and hundreds more. My work has been featured in Forbes, The Guardian and leading business media worldwide.

I’m the author of six international bestsellers, including When Digital Becomes Human, Customers The Day After Tomorrow, and A Diamond in the Rough. In October 2026, I’ll publish Deep Loyalty: a book about how to reinvent customer loyalty when AI makes perfection the baseline.

Beyond the stage

I’m a co-founder of nexxworks, where we help companies see the future of customer experience up close through inspiration tours and executive programs.

I’m based in Belgium, I’m a father of teenagers and when I’m not on stage or writing, I’m probably planning my next family road trip or practicing a new recipe in my kitchen.
